Maxim's MAX77278, MAX776xx, and MAX17270 single-inductor, multiple-output (SIMO) power-management ICs (PMICs) provide three independent power rails from a single inductor, eliminating the need to use multiple bulky inductors for wearables, fitness monitors, hearables, trackers, sensors, smart home automation hubs, and Internet of Things (IoT) devices. These low-power SIMO PMICs are ideal for designers of small, battery-powered electronics who want to simultaneously reduce form factor and achieve higher system efficiency.

The MAX77278 provides highly-integrated battery charging and power supply solutions for low-power applications where size and efficiency are critical. The device features a SIMO buck-boost regulator that provides three independently programmable power rails from a single inductor for minimizing the total solution size.

The MAX77640/MAX77641 are a low-quiescent current (IQ) power solution for applications where size and efficiency are critical. The device integrates a 3-output SIMO buck-boost regulator, a 150 mA LDO, and a 3-channel current-sink driver.

The MAX77680/MAX77681 are 3-channel SIMO buck-boost regulators that regulate three independent rails using only 3 µA of IQ. The SIMO improves battery-life by replacing inefficient LDOs while being competitive in efficiency to traditional single-output bucks.

The MAX17270 is a 3-output switching regulator designed for applications requiring efficient regulation of multiple supplies in a very small space. The parts use a buck-boost architecture that regulates three outputs using a single, small 2.2 μH inductor at efficiencies up to 85%.
